Red Bull X1 gets real

Real-life Red Bull X1
If you thought the Red Bull X1, Gran Turismo 5's fastest car, would stay in the video game world, well, think again. Here is a full-scale model of the Red Bull X1 that will debut in Madrid, Spain during the GT5 launch party, which is actually in a couple weeks. This isn't the first time Polyphony Digital collaborated with another manufacturer to produce something. As you may recall, when GT5 Prologue was released, Citroën and Polyphony Digital collaborated to produce the GTbyCitroën. It was meant to be Citroën's first and greatest supercar. They even created a working concept model and put it on display. Unfortunately, it was scrapped because they didn't have enough money to put it into production. So, it remained in the virtual world. But it seems that this X1 prototype might be the future of Formula One. Polyphony Digital and Red Bull Racing collaborated to create the Red Bull X1, a concrete idea of what Formula One Racing would be without the pesky regulations. If this car did come to the real world, it would change racing forever. But, for now, we get to have fun with it in the world of Gran Turismo.
