NFS Hot Pursuit Car Profiles: Porsche 918 Spyder Concept Study

Sexy Red 918 Spyder
Who wouldn't want a Porsche 918 Spyder in red, considering that it hasn't come out yet? I would definitely write a check out to Porsche right now and buy a prototype from them in this color. It doesn't matter anyway. Porsche have already cleared this car for production, and you can have one in this color. Anyway, this concept study has two engines: a 3.4-liter 500 horsepower V8 engine from the Porsche RS Spyder, and three electric motors, altogether averaging 218 horsepower. So, you have 718 horsepower in this two-seater spyder. Is it fast?

Up the mountain
Oh yeah! 0 to 60 is reached in 3.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of over 200 MPH. With the nitrous set at full blast, you should average 223 MPH. That's fast for a car that's meant to save gas. That all doesn't matter in this game, because your job is to evade the SCPD as fast as you can. Anyway, this car not only has good looks. It rides as if it was from heaven.

Snow Drift
It might be new, but Porsche have used some of the resources that made it's predecessor, the Carrera GT, so great, with the incorporation of a few things. First, this is the first of its line with Porsche all-wheel drive for traction at high speeds. It's also the first of its line with Porsche's clever 7-speed PDK (Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) transmission for quick shifting and faster speeds. All these new inventions do incorporate to how the 918 Spyder drives. In the corners, it comes alive! It's so much fun to drive, I went up and down the mountains just practicing my drifts. It's unbelievable!

Stand aside, minivan!
This isn't the first time Need For Speed incorporated a concept car from Porsche into their games. Their first Porsche concept car was actually back in 2002 and it happened to be the concept study of the Carrera GT. What does this mean? Expect a production 918 Spyder to debut very soon in the Need For Speed series.
