Ring-Leader

2012 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package
It's been a while since we've heard of this limited edition package. It was when the LFA first came out that Toyota said they'd be building a hardcore version of this. They even showed us a picture of it. Now, a year later, Lexus is ready to release this hardcore package to the public. Only 50 will be made, each costing $70,000 more than its original price of $375,000. So, what does this package entail? For starters, Lexus added 10 more horses to the engine to counteract the drag of the massive rear wing, front splitter, and rear diffuser allowing this car to stay planted on the road. Second, it won't just be available in orange. There's glossy white, glossy black, and the popular matte black, but that's a $20,000 option. Third, you can customize the interior colors in all black, black and red, black and purple, or, if your Prince, black and orange. Only the Europeans will have the option of having their interiors all carbon fiber. Fourth, buyers will have the option of getting some lessons from a 'Ring master, or 'Ring mistress (Sabine Schmitz), on how to navigate the 'Ring. Fifth, how's about a year's free pass to go crazy round the 'Ring anytime you want? Sounds good doesn't it? All you need is a check of $445,000 made out to Lexus and they'll do all of this for you. If your a matte black fan, you'll be paying $465,000.

Bikini Babe + LFA = Sexy x 10

2012 Lexus LFA
Lexus LFA orders are now being placed and owners are getting there own copy of the ridiculously priced Japanese Supercar. I think we all agree that this car looks rather nice, but wouldn't it look nicer posing with a very sexy lady? Well Lexus has money and resources, so they can make that happen, and they did. Pikes peak driver and Drift Champion Rhys Millen took the LFA out to do some donuts around Dutch Supermodel Rianne Ten Haken.

Looks sexy, doesn't it? It took some work getting this photo perfect. Check out the behind the scene stuff below.

As If It Wasn't Enough

2011 CEC Lexus LFA
The Lexus LFA has already been crowned the Tokyo King of Speed, so why on earth would make it any faster? Obviously Lexus wants this car to protect its title. A Los Angeles Tuner Company CEC has recently announced a tuning program for the Lexus LFA. The program includes some new body aesthetics, new rims, and more power. In fact, they managed to squeeze 10 more horsepower out of this car and quicken shift changes so that it will accelerate much faster and have a higher top speed. That all may be so, but what we're looking at here is probably one of the most expensive tuner programs ever. The car itself costs $375,000 with a variety of options to choose from. Tuning such a car is a very expensive job. I hope it works out for them.

Kingship

2012 Nissan GT-R
For more than 50 years, the Nissan Skyline GT-R has been crowned the Tokyo King of Speed with top speeds ranging from 135 to 193 MPH. But now, in 2011, it seems that the mighty Godzilla has finally met its match, from Toyota.

2011 Lexus LFA
You all know what this car is. It's the all-new Lexus LFA, and even though it has a V10 engine under the hood and is made from exotic material, it's still Japanese and worthy enough to take the crown as the new Tokyo King of Speed. It doesn't accelerate as fast as the GT-R with a 0 to 60 time of 3.5 seconds compared to 2.9 seconds, but since it is lighter and has a V10 engine with over 550 horsepower, it will reach 200 MPH with ease while the Nissan is still stuck at 197 MPH. The LFA also sounds a lot better and handles more easily than the GT-R. But the biggest difference by a country mile is the price. While the GT-R stands at a steady $90,000, the LFA costs a whopping $375,000. That's more than 4 times the price. But, if you really are a man of speed, money is irrelevant to you. The car is what's important.

Kings of Speed

2010 Chevy Corvette ZR1
Most of us have a dream of driving fast cars. I can relate to that. If I go car shopping, I will get a car that's powerful and can get me to work on time. But, out of all honesty, I love speed demons; those cars that just defy speed by all means. If you're looking for a super fast street-legal car, here's a list of current contenders.

2011 Lexus LFA
1. Lexus LFA
This is the fastest car Lexus has ever made with a top speed of 202 MPH, just as fast as a Gallardo. Now I put this car on the list instead of the Lambo because it's just crazy! It handles fairly well, but for a car with stats that match the Gallardo for a price 3x as much as the Gallardo ($375,000), this car is in a class of its own.

2010 Chevy Corvette ZR1
2. Chevy Corvette ZR1
This is the fastest Vette ever produced with a top speed of 207 MPH. What makes this car so special? Most supercars are built from special leathery material with carbon fiber stuffings and aluminum boltage, but as for this Vette, the basics is where it's at. The body was made from tough plastic. The rims are regular meshes. The roof is made out of Carbon Fiber, but that's the only Carbon Fiber you'll find in this Vette. The product: a car that can outrun a Enzo Ferrari in a straight line.

2011 Ferrari 458 Italia
3. Ferrari 458 Italia
The fastest V8 Ferrari ever built with a 0 to 60 time of 3.3 seconds and top speed of 204 MPH, topping the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. What makes this car special? Thanks to the power of science, this is the first Ferrari in a long time that has been properly designed. The handling is phenomenal and speed is blistering. I am impressed at Ferrari have done with this car. Everything in it just fits!

2011 Ferrari 599 GTO
4. Ferrari 599 GTO
Another one from Ferrari. This is the fastest front-engined V12 that they have produced with a top speed of 208 MPH. What makes this car special? Only well renowned Ferraris deserve the GTO badge, and this car has earned it. Its new more powerful V12 engine is more dignified and exclusive than any other of the V12's Ferrari makes. It also handles very well with a high ambition of sticking its sexy tail out.

2011 Bentley Continental Supersports
5. Bentley Continental Supersports
This is fastest ocean-liner Bentley has ever made with a 204 MPH top speed. What else is special about this car other than it's top speed. It should seem surprising because this car weighs 2.5 tons, making it pretty big and heavy for a seriously fast luxury coupe.

2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS
6. Porsche 911 GT2 RS
I truly believe Porsche could have done better with this one. It's an all new Twin-Turbocharged flat-6 engine produces 620 horsepower giving it a top speed of 205 MPH. With that much horsepower, you could do as much as 215 MPH. But anyway, such speed should be revered. If all it could do was 205, that's fine. There are cars with 700 horsepower that can't even do 190 MPH. Sounds embarrassing, doesn't it.

2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
7. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
This car has made the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records for breaking the land speed record of production cars: 268 MPH! As we speak, Shelby Super Cars is trying to make their competitor, the Ultimate Aero III, much faster than this French bullet. I doubt they can do it. Bugatti rightfully deserved this title. There won't be car that will beat it in a very long time.

So here you are: your kings of speed for 2010. I hope a car on this list is the right one for you.

The Darker Side of Green

2011 Lexus CT 200h
If you hate your ugly Toyota Prius, my advice would be to take it back and get a Tesla. The problem is that Tesla's are expensive. So, what do you do? Turn to Lexus. Their Prius doesn't ruin the earth and is much cooler looking. This is the 2011 Lexus CT 200h, Lexus's 5th hybrid on the market. It's also Lexus's most sporty hybrid on the market. Under the hood is a 134 horsepower hybrid engine with 98 horsepower coming from a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine and 80 horsepower coming from an electric motor. This green engine is connected to ECVT (Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission). As a result, 0 to 60 is reached in 9.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 112 MPH. Doesn't sound like much, does it? How about I tell you that this car gets an EPA estimated 42 MPG? What's also interesting is that, like the Honda CR-Z, this hybrid comes with a sport button. So, you can do some fantastic sporty driving, while saving some green, saving the earth, and saving your pocket. And, since it's a Lexus, expect this car to be available with the best when it comes to luxury, entertainment, and detail. The cost of all this: $29,120, which in my opinion is actually good value for a car that looks, handles, and feels better than an ugly Prius.
