Test Drive Unlimited is back, and this time, things get a lot more exotic. Last time, we were in Hawaii trying to make a name for ourselves in some of the fastest cars in the world. Now, were in Ibiza for the Solar Crown Racing Tournament were the best racers compete for big prizes and lots and lots of money. Wow, I sounded like Tess Wintory back there. Anyway, TDU is back bringing some of its exclusive cars and winding roads with it, and i must say, it has gotten a lot better.
2011 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro Coupe
Besides the lack of some manufacturers such as Wiesmann, Lamborghini, and BMW, the car list is actually legit, with up to 100 cars in game, and some DLCs coming soon. Eden Games really did a fantastic job with the cars. All the details are just right, even in the interior. The leather looks absolutely real, it's breathtaking. As for engine sounds, they worked on that as well. Most of the cars in this game sound like the real ones, especially this R8 V10 Coupe. If you just listen to the sound at 7000 RPMs, it'll be so good that you'll be having a crisis.
Ferrari 308 Challenge
As for the environment, it is astounding that they can use satellite images and pure design to make both islands, Oahu and Ibiza, so beautiful. The roads look realistic. The trees are sensational. The homes that you can own look absolutely real. This game just pushes all the right buttons. Whenever you're driving, there is a moment that you'll just stop and take everything in and see just how beautiful exotic islands are. They really did a good job visualizing this.
2010 Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG
Gameplay has been improved as well. Now, there's a day and night cycle which seems pretty good and only lasts about 48 minutes for each shift. What's also impressive is the dynamic weather that happens when you least expect it. It could be in the middle of the night when you think that all has gone well. Or, it could be in the morning when you just get up. Now, if you remember the last game, you'd know that the convertibles and roadster weren't able to put their hoods up at all. This game allows you to do that in real time, no matter what convertible you're driving.
2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport
I was testing this game for some time and thought all would go well, but then I discovered the elephant in the corner: handling. It's still sloppy like the last game. They might've said that they've improved, but honestly, they didn't. There are some corners where you get understeer for no apparent reason. Sometimes, when you turn too much you'll find yourself spinning in the other direction. Whenever you're in the air, be careful where you land, because you might end up in a ditch, or worse in the sea. The only way to perfect driving in this game is to adopt their driving physics, which will be hard for Gran Turismo fans.
2011 Ariel Atom 500 V8
Honestly, this game would've been the perfect Multiplayer Racing game if the handling was improved and if their weren't any bugs with it. They still need to fix those things. And, if they do create a sequel to this one, hopefully it will be brilliant. But for now, TDU 2 will get 4 out of 5 stars from me. So, in conclusion, if you're looking for a realistic racer, stick with Gran Turismo 5. However, if you want something better and more beautiful than boring and dull Need For Speed World, this is your game.
The Veyron has been with us since 2006 and it has been proven to us that it is truly the undisputed fastest car in the world with a world record top speed of 267 MPH. It's a shame to see the production of this car come to an end in 2013, or will it? Recent speculation has gotten out that Bugatti have a brand new Veyron in the works. It turns out that the Volkswagen Group, the company that owns Bugatti, have no intentions of having this hypercar go away. So, by the time our current super-speed hero dies in 2013, another hero will be here to take his place. Who knews? That car could just about reach 270 MPH. Let's find out in 2 years. Two of the fastest cars in the world. A battle of power and sure speed. Only Top Gear had the ability to make this happen. If you have seen the battle between these two cars, then you know what the outcome is. However, if you haven't, I've posted it here so you can see just what happens between them. Top Gear host Richard Hammond wanted to find out if the old Fastest Car in the World, the McLaren F1, still had enough to take on the new Fastest Car in the World, the Bugatti Veyron, in a 1-mile straight drag race. Unfortunately, their airfield isn't as big and bad for these cars to duke it out. So, they sent them to the only place where speed is everything: Dubai. Hammond went behind the wheel of the Veyron, while his Stiggyness himself, The STIG, took the F1 for a whirl. Remember, the Veyron has more horsepower, torque, and traction than the F1. However, the F1 is much lighter, has no driving aids, and is somewhat more aerodynamic than the Veyron. I'm not gonna say anything more about this. Just Watch and see what happens!
Bugatti 16C Galibier with Bugatti 16.4 Veyron Sang Bleu
It seems Bugatti's New Years Resolution is to become a premier luxury brand. Recent reports show the brand at high interest for creating a luxury car. They've already had an attempt with the 16C Galibier revealed two years ago at Geneva. It looks like they'll be running with that since Bugatti have planned to cease the Veyron's production in 2014. As we speak, the car is now in development and some reports show that it will use the chassis from the current Audi A8. What does this mean? Well, it could mean that Bugatti keeps to tradition and add all-wheel drive to this new luxury car. It could also mean that Audi could have a great affect on this new luxury car in the works. Let's find out in the years to come. Share On Facebook
2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport (Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit)
We all know that the fastest car in the world right now is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport with a top speed of 268 MPH. Ever since it was built, the Veyron's main purpose was to be the best of the the best, and this car clearly lives up to its goal: 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds, all-wheel drive, carbon fiber body, 1200 horsepower. This truly is a masterpiece. The last bit of information I mentioned there, the power of the car, is true, but truthfully speaking, it isn't the most powerful car out there. There is one production car from France with 150 more horses than this car and it's not entirely what you think it is.
2009 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Centenaire
It's this: the Bugatti Veyron Centenaire. Now you may be a bit confused, but let me explain. This isn't the Bleu Centenaire, celebrating 100 years of Bugatti success that's covered in blue. This is the Centenaire, a secret celebratory car for Bugatti's success. This highly exclusive Veyron made its appearance at the Geneva Motor Show this year. Under the hood is a tuned version of the regular Veyron's Quad-Turbocharged 8.0-liter W16. Instead of having 1001 horsepower, this Veyron has 1350 horsepower. That's more than you get in the Super Sport. Unfortunately, this car isn't faster than the Super Sport because its top speed is 261 MPH, 7 MPH slower than the Super Sport. Why? Bugatti only customized the engine. They never lightened the body. They only made it prettier to look at. Only a limited amount were sold, each costing over $2.2 Million. But, it doesn't matter, because it's not the fastest car in the world.
Here it is everyone! The fastest police car in the SCPD: the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Now EA wanted to have you racers and police officers reach over 270 MPH with this car, but they thought that would be too fast. So, with the Nitrous topped out you will reach 263 MPH, but it's still the fastest interceptor in the game. It will reach 60 in less than 2.6 seconds. You will reach your lawbreakers with ease thanks to its new 8.0-liter Quad-Turbocharged W16 engine producing 1200 horsepower, 7-speed Semi-automatic transmission, and All-Wheel Drive. But, there's one other thing that makes this car the best on the force: it's weight.
Bridge Patrol
It might have been lightened with Carbon Fiber in the skunkworks of Bugatti, but the Veyron is still heavy as it always has been. The regular Veyron weighs 4470 lbs. The Super Sport is just 400 lbs. lighter than that, which means there's still 2 tons of weight in this car. But it won't matter. You will be able use that weight and immense speed to knock out speeders. And, even though it's heavy, it doesn't handle this way.
Mountain Cruise
You have to remember that this car topped out the Top Gear leaderboard with a time of 1:16.8, thrashing the 1:17 time set by the Gumpert Apollo S, which you can also drive in the Super Sports Pack. Around the corners, it really comes alive. It manages to stick the road so much that you might get caught off guard. Just make sure you don't go to fast around the corners, or you'll end up hitting the wall all the time. This is a difficult car to handle, not because it handles well, but because it's just too fast.
Super Cool!
So here you are then: the fastest car on the force, revealed! You can have fun with it now with the Super Sports Pack, available now on PSN and Xbox Live.
