Need For Speed's Mascot

2005 BMW M3 GTR
Ever since Need For Speed Most Wanted was introduced, this particular M3 has become a very popular car. Not only was it the fastest car in the game and a very grippy race car, it looked aggressive and rather sexy. It was so good and so popular, some game modders thought this car shouldn't just be in one racing game; it should be in many. Here are a couple that make the M3 GTR even greater.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted
1. Need For Speed Most Wanted
What better game to play that exemplifies the essence of this car than the original. It was fast, powerful, elegant, aggressive, and a serious police target. Many racers have wondered just what type of engine was in this car during this game. I might have an idea. It was probably a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine that produced over 600 horsepower. Well, it should have that much. The car could hit over 240 MPH, almost as fast as a Bugatti Veyron. The car was very light (well it had to be; it was a race car). In the corners, it was like nothing I've ever seen before. The car was so nimble and yet so ferociously fast. This was definitely the best game that brought this car to life.

World Racing 2
2. World Racing 2
This game was only given negative reviews because most people don't know what racing really is. It's about pushing your car to its limits, and that's what the guys at Synetic have done with World Racing 2. Since its release, there have been over 1,100 mods that you can add to the game, most of them being cars. Luckily, a modder nicknamed CoolK managed to convert the M3 GTR from Most Wanted on to WR2 so that other people can race with it. When driving it in the game, you can see that it looks a little bit more detailed than the regular NFSMW version. It's also much faster. CoolK managed to increase the power from 600 to 700 horsepower. With a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds, this car will hit 288 MPH, that's faster than the Veyron SuperSport. He even managed to include the same aggressive engine sound from the original game. In conclusion, this game has turned our beloved Beamer into a striped-vinyled rocket with massive thrusters.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
3. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
GTA: San Andreas was proclaimed one of the best games to play on the PS2. The game has been available on the PC for some time and a lot of mods have been produced to make the game much more fun. Unfortunately, every mod made for this game has been repeated many times; some better or worse than others. For example, there was a full on fight to see if anyone could create the perfect Most Wanted M3 GTR. Many models have been made, but only one emerged victorious. The one you see above you was made by IKEY07. This one is by far the best and the most detailed M3 GTR for this game. Everything about this car is accurate, even the performance. Now you can use this car to race against other supercars, get chased by cops, and take down people that have been messing with you.

Trackmania United Forever
4. Trackmania United Forever
This is by far one of my favorite racing games. It's all about building the coolest track and setting the best time in cars that can go over 1000 MPH. There's a fan site for this game known as Trackmania-Carpark in which 3D modelers are able to design new realistic cars to make the game more fun and a little bit more realistic. A certain modeler nicknamed BIN recreated the M3 GTR. This car has been a serious want by most TMU players for a long time. Since it was released, I've had barrels of fun in this car. I mean, why not? It's much more fun to drive this car while speeding along a island highway at 752 MPH about to go through a loop. The details of the car are fantastic as well. Everything looks like its accurate and in place. This game made the car definitely faster and much more fun.

So, there you are: the list of games that exemplify the greatness of this magnificent BMW. It truly was a great car. Who knows? Need For Speed might bring it back someday.
