A legend returns

2011 Lancia New Stratos
If you are a rally enthusiast, you might remember the old Lancia Stratos. That car won many rallies during its lifetime. When the car ran out of production, it was missed by almost everybody. Now, a car collector by the name of Michael Stotschek collaborated with the Ferrari designing team Pininfarina to resurrect the Stratos and turn it into a modern day supercar. The car still has rear-wheel drive, but instead of having an old Ferrari engine under the hood, it has been fitted with a 4.3-liter 510 horsepower V8 engine from the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. 0 to 60 is reached in 3.6 seconds and Stotschek claims that this car will go over 200 MPH. A lot of Ferrari has been put in this car. The transmission is a 6-speed F1 transmission with flappy paddles on the steering wheel. The rims are Ferrari based with some ingenious science behind them, of which I've been barred from explaining to you. This car has been a big project for Stotschek, costing several million dollars to make. But, the end product was admirable. Even the president of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, drove this car and congratulated Stotschek for making it unbelievably good. Unfortunately, this car is a one-off, and no one knows what the price is. However, Stotschek does claim that there is a racing version coming out that looks like this...

2012 Lancia New Stratos Racer
This is just a 1/8th scale model, but only 199 actual racers will be built and sold. So, save up! You might have a chance to get your piece of Italian motoring history.
