Rise of the Great Snake

2010 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Final Edition
Yes! You saw the title, and the rumors are true. An all new Dodge Viper is due in 2012. Thanks to Chrysler's new partnership with Fiat, we may see a sexier looking snake, as if this one wasn't sexy enough for you. Speculation has been received that the new Viper will NOT have the chassis from the Alfa 8C Competizione. It's a good thing, too. The car may be beautiful, but it handles terribly. Other speculations have been received that the new Viper will NOT receive a Ferrari V8 engine, but an updated 8.4-liter 600 horsepower V10 engine. This car will also have the correct driving aids for better grip and traction. Basically, what Fiat is doing is making the Viper more accessible to the everyday driver, as head of Dodge Ralph Gilles explains.

"Fiat has an awesome ability to tune cars. I want the new Viper to be a more forgiving car to drive and accessible to more people. We've never had stability control on a high-performance car, which is about to happen on the new car." - Ralph Gilles, head of Dodge

Before this new one was introduced, the Viper was for the true petrol-heads. If you had feet of steel and an obsession for power, this car was for you. Now that the aids are coming in the new one, cuz the old one had no aids, don't expect it to be subtle. It will still be a massive muscle car. Get ready for the new snake in 2012.
