2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG |
Gran Turismo 5 put this car on their front cover. If it had been released on November 2nd, it would've been its video game premier. But, now it will be released this Wednesday, about a week after Hot Pursuit came out. And guess what? They put this car in the game. So, technically, this Gullwing Supercar made its gaming debut in this game. This is the SLS AMG, Mercedes own supercar built by their performance partner, AMG. Under the hood is a 6.3-liter V8 engine producing 563 horsepower, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the world. With a 0 to 60 time of 3.7 seconds, this car will zoom to a top speed of 198 MPH. With Nitrous at full blast, you can get this car zooming to 209 MPH; pretty fast for a car with wings.

High-speed cruising |
This car is a mental and exceptionally fun to drive. Now, Mercedes-Benz cars are notorious for being rather heavy and firm, especially in the corners. The SLS, on paper, is quite heavy: 3570 lb. to be exact. But, the eerie thing about this car is that it doesn't feel this way. It feels precise, so precise that it feels somewhat light. It corners with ease and it drifts so well; it's mind-boggling! I'm surprised AMG hasn't made a Black Edition of this car. It's that good.

Silhouette in Red |
There are a lot of chinks in the AMG armor. For instance there's a retractable spoiler (as seen above) which is activated at 75 MPH to give more aerodynamic feel. There are LED daytime running lights for design and safety purposes. Even the design, although it was based off the 300SL Gullwing, has some formula one style appearances and technology. For example, there's a reverse light in between the two rectangular exhausts. When driving, there are colors seen on dashboard which will indicate when to change gears. AMG has truly worked on this car.

At $183,000, you too can go drifting with excitement in this car in real life. In Seacrest County however, you can have in fun this car as a racer or...

as a cop. Either way, you're driving a car 56 years in the making. It is absolutely brilliant!
