1970 Lancia Fulvia Rally

Some rally enthusiasts will tell that when it comes to cars, the classics are where its at. The Top Gear UK presenters did an episode showcasing their pick for the best manufacturer in the world, which happened to be Lancia. They especially loved the one pictured here: the Lancia Fulvia. It was one of the greatest rally racers of its time and they liked it because it just looked pretty. Well, if you're one for bringing the classics back, the Codemasters boffins are now working on the 3rd sequel to the Colin McRae DiRT series, and they're bringing all the old stuff, and mixing it with some new stuff. The game should be somewhat exciting.

What do you get when you mix slippery floors, some rally racing sounds, and some cats? You get drift cats! A YouTube user thought it would be nice to compile a video showing some cats doing some professional race car drifting on some slippery floors. This is probably the funniest video I've ever seen. Energy Drinks + Dakar Dirt = VW

2011 VW Race Touareg 3

It seems Red Bull had a quite an affect on the VW Dakar Rally Team, not that they drank many of them before the races, of course. According to a report from CNN, the Team has won two of the Dakar Rally Events so far with Carlos Sainz behind the wheel of this VW Race Touareg 3. Even though it's diesel powered, don't doubt for a second that it isn't fast. Its Twin-Turbodiesel V6 produces 296 horsepower with 442 lb.-ft. of torque. 0 to 60 is done in a surprising 6.1 seconds and it will hit a top speed on tarmac of 117 MPH. On road, that's not really fast. On Dakar dirt, however, that's pretty fast. Not to mention that it's driven by a very good rally driver. Carlos Sainz of Spain was a former WRC rally driver for Ford, Toyota, Subaru, Citroën, and Lancia. He joined T1 rally in 2006 with the VW Race Touareg 2 and won the Dakar Rally in 2010. Another fun fact for all you soccer fans out there; he once ran for president of the Real Madrid F.C. He lost the election though.

Ken Block with Gymkhana Fiesta

Life does get rough if you're the Owner, CEO, and Official Rally Driver of a shoe company. Luckily, if you're Ken Block, things tend to get easy as life goes by. Just recently, Mr. Block was in France giving rides to popular extreme surfers and BMX bikers involving him doing what he does best, Gymkhana. He did give a girl a ride, although she did scream the whole time. Ken doesn't mind giving demos to people. He did the same thing for James May when he had the old Subaru Impreza.
