2011 Lexus LFA Matte Black |
As you might of imagined, Gran Turismo 5 managed to get this ridiculously expensive Lexus in the game. I had enough money to buy this Lexus and see if it compares to the real thing. Under the hood is a 4.8-liter 556 Horsepower V10 engine. 0 to 60 is achieved in 3.6 seconds on its to a top speed of 202 MPH. I was able to reach that speed at Circuit de la Sarthe, so this car really is fast. But, does it handle evenly well?

Lining up for a lap |
I took this car to the Top Gear Test Track to see if this handles as well as it would do in real life. Now, if you may recall, the Stig did a lap in a white LFA in the wet in 1:22.8 which was 3 seconds faster than the Gallardo Spyder wet lap. In the game, you can't race in the wet on this track, which is a good thing, because I'll need all the grip I can get.

Past the Follow-Through |
This car handles surprisingly well. It's so realistic, it's mind-boggling. As for engine sounds, they do need to work on it a little bit. At mid-RPMs, it sounds like a proper V10. But, at high RPMs, it sounds very strange. Anyway, I did a lap with sport tires on in 1:20.4, more than two seconds faster than what it would have been in the wet. So, is it real? Yes! Well done Yamauchi! You've done a great job with this car. You can buy it at the Lexus Dealership for 375,000 Credits. That's a lot, but you also have to be a level 12 A-Spec racer to buy it as well and by that time, you'll already have enough for it. As for looks, it looks fantastic, with everything in its place, hence this is a Premium car. So, what are you waiting for? Get with the racing!
